FAQ

Answers to common questions about solar panel repair and how this enquiry service works.

Can an older solar panel system be repaired?

Often, yes. Many older systems have a problem with one component rather than the entire installation. The technician can inspect the system, identify the likely fault and explain whether repair or targeted replacement is sensible.

Why has my solar generation suddenly dropped?

A sudden drop can have several causes, including inverter faults, electrical trips, damaged panels, loose connections or equipment failure. Weather and seasonal conditions also affect output, so diagnosis should compare the system's behaviour with what would reasonably be expected.

Do you repair solar inverters?

Yes — the independent solar panel technicians we work with diagnose inverter errors and determine whether the problem lies in the inverter itself or elsewhere in the solar system. Depending on the fault and equipment, the sensible solution may be a repair, reset, component replacement or replacement inverter.

Can you replace one broken solar panel?

In many cases a damaged panel can be replaced without replacing the whole array. Compatibility, electrical characteristics, mounting dimensions and the condition of the remaining system all need to be considered.

Do you work on systems installed by another company?

Yes — a large part of the work involves existing systems installed by other companies, including installations where the original installer is no longer trading or no longer provides repair support.

Can you check a system that has no obvious fault?

Yes. A solar health check is useful when you want reassurance about system condition, have noticed gradual performance loss or have recently moved into a property with an existing installation.

Do you repair solar batteries?

The technicians we work with investigate battery-system faults, warning messages, charging issues and communication problems. The repair options depend on the battery model, inverter arrangement and the exact nature of the fault.

What should I do if my inverter shows an error?

Make a note of the exact error code or warning message and avoid repeatedly switching equipment on and off unless the manufacturer's instructions specifically advise it. Contact us with the inverter make, model and error information so we can help arrange the next step.

Does submitting an enquiry cost anything or commit me to work?

No. Submitting an enquiry is free and does not commit you to using any particular technician. You can review any quotation, discuss the scope of work and decide whether to proceed directly with the technician you are connected with.

Do you charge a fee for the enquiry service?

We may receive a fee from a technician for passing on an enquiry. This does not increase the cost to you or commit you to using that technician. See How Our Enquiry Service Works for more detail.
